One postdoctoral position is available at the Space and Astrophysical Plasmas Center at the Universidad de Chile through a collaborative Anillo Pia ACT1405 project.
We aim to study fundamental processes in space plasma physics related to fluctuations in
the solar wind-magnetospheric- ionospheric system using theory, simulations, and data
analysis. The postdocs will work on the analysis of behavior of the ionosphere during
storms using the data obtained from multiple satellites and ground measurements, and
relate the results with some of the theories that have been developed by members of the
Center. Experience of working with Total Electron Content (TEC) data is highly
desirable.
We offer one year positions inserted in the Space and Astrophysical Plasmas Center at
the Universidad de Chile, that can be renewed by a second year depending on results.
Requirements: PhD in physics or a related discipline, ability to work and support
interdisciplinary work in space plasma physics. Chilean or a resident of Chile. To start
work on March 1st 2018. To apply, please email your CV and cover letter to
anilloact1405@gmail.com, and include the names and contact information of three
references by January 29, 2018. Please include the job title "postdoctoral positions 2018"
in the subject line. Salary is $1.000.000 Chilean pesos per month.
